The Dangers Of Ouija Boards

THE DANGERS OF OUIJA BOARDS

One of the world’s greatest paranormal mysteries… how can a board enable communication with spirits? and what are the Ouija board’s dangers?

In 1977 I took part in a Ouija board seance and without doubt had contact with something, which turned out to be very evil.

I researched this so called game for many years after my experience and I would like to share with you, ‘Ouija board dangers’ and what you could be potentially up against, if you decide that the temptation to dabble with a Ouija is too great!

BUT FIRST – HOW DOES THE OUIJA BOARD WORK?

The Ouija board was invented in America with a device called, a ‘planchette’ – meaning ‘little plank’.

If you look at the above picture, the board is almost heart shaped and the planchette moves around this. At the time of its making there were two castor’s underneath the planchette, which rotated once a pencil was placed at the tip.

Annoyingly for the players, the messages were often difficult to comprehend and were very time consuming. Because of this, a whole host of different types of communication were being developed, but without much success at that time.

E.C Reich – a carpenter from the USA, then developed a lap top wooden board. He carved out the alphabet in a curve around the top of the board and then created another straight line underneath, with the numerals o-9 engraved. Reiche etched the words ‘Yes’ and ‘No’ in each bottom corner. He then replaced the pencil with an extra coaster, which gave the board more definition to the bottom of the heart shape. This then acted as the pointer as the planchette moved to each letter. (NB: some boards nowadays have the ‘yes’ and ‘no’ at the top)

The plancehtette’s ease of movement and communication resulted in a major breakthrough with spiritual contact.

Great potential was envisaged for this product when Reiche then sold his business to two of his friends called, Charles Kennard and William Maupin, who began marketing the Ouija board in 1886.

In 1892 William Fuld took over the business development and subsequently changed the name to ‘Ouija Novelty Co’.

The Ouija board took off to such an extent with Fuld’s (and later his brother’s input), that it  remained successful for the next 35 years. By 1920 it was believed to have made over £1m profit and was also credited as being William Fuld’s invention…a claim Fuld quite rightly denied.

Remarkably, in 1927 it was reported that Fuld committed suicide (aged 57 years old) by jumping off the Baltimore building (where his factory was based). This then gave the Ouija board an even more sinister appeal. However, other accounts stated that Fuld had fallen from the building whilst leaning against a railing, which subsequently gave way and led to his death.

Whatever the reason for Fuld’s death, the business was immediately taken over by his children, Catherine and William A. Fuld who continuted to market this phenomenum until ‘Parker Bros’ took over in 1942.

Spirit communication similar to the Ouija has been used for centuries, even before the time of Christ. Its popularity is almost certainly due to the high and regular success rate with spirit communication.

However, people who use Ouija boards, or conduct séances without protection are ultimately sitting targets for psychic attacks, with a huge risk of attracting dangerous - ‘non-human’ energies, such as demons. It is believed that a demon’s ultimate goal is to free itself from its miserable existence and to enter into ours - through any means possible.

A Ouija board acts like a beacon of light, which reaches astral dimensions - once a game is in progress. This then becomes a portal of access for anything to come ‘unintentionally’ invited into our existence. Once in, this energy will attach itself to the most vulnerable person playing the game…usually the most naive to the Ouija’s capabilities.

The Ouija board is one of the most dangerous occult games to ‘play’ and has caused many people to encounter horrendous paranormal occurrences. I was lucky enough to escape with just the terrible memory of  my experience, which will remain etched in my  unforgiving conscious for the rest of my life.

MY STORY – OUIJA BOARD DANGERS

The winter weekend began where my colleague – Jen and I had been commissioned to Southampton, UK. A location Jen and I had never visited before…but a special place we would never forget.

The hotel was huge, very old and a bit too spooky, but we settled in and unloaded our luggage before going out for a meal.

On our return to the hotel, my husband fell asleep very quickly. However, I was in no mood for sleep, so I slunk from our room and knocked on Jen’s door opposite ours.

I was pleased she was still awake and we made our way down to the hotel bar in the hope it was still open.
We were very happy to see two staff drinking after finishing their shifts, so we asked if we could have a drink. They said we could and to join them at their table.

We sat beside a huge open fire place and listened as the staff were arguing about whether or not the hotel was haunted. Jen jokingly suggested they hold a séance.

They agreed and said there was a Scrabble set behind the bar we could use for the letters.

The barman, who I shall call Mark (but cannot remember his name), set out the letters in a circle shape, then he positioned the words YES and NO either side of an upturned wine glass. The four of us then placed a finger on it and began our game.

Mark asked the usual “Is anybody there?”

Nothing happened for a while, but then I began to experience a strange sensation. (It is very difficult to describe, but I will do my best). It was as if a haze surrounded us…not a visible haze, just the feeling of one. This is when I suspected something was about to happen.

Then the glass began to circle the inside ring of letters, with only the very tips of our fingers touching it.

“Who are you?” I asked. The glass then moved with an eerie ease, as it spelled out the name…’****** ******’. (Sorry name obscured  in respect of privacy)

The other barman who I shall call Geoff, accused Mark of moving it, which made him cross, so he got up from the table and walked to the bar.

Geoff took his finger off the glass and sat back from the game. I asked whatever was in the glass to prove it was really working, and it immediately spelt out a word:

GOSS

Geoff said, “That’s… my surname.” Then he pointed to the glass again. “Look! It’s spelling out my name – AGAIN!”

I had never felt this frightened in all my life. Then (I don’t know what made me ask this) I said, “Is there a God?”

The glass set off again, this time almost gliding as it formed a figure of eight shape over and over again. Then it seemed to become annoyed and began crashing into the letters – sending them to the floor.

We all stood up and looked at one another. I have never seen such frightened faces in all my life. This is when we parted company, but it didn’t stop there…
Some time later (I can’t really remember how long), something occurred that I can only put down to messing with the Ouija.

I felt restless on this particular evening and stayed up quite late into the early hours of the morning. Eventually I decided to take myself off to bed. On entering the bedroom, I bent over the bed to climb in when suddenly something struck me hard in the back. I sensed instantly the strike was not from a human and I lay wheezing and unable to scream. I just waited. I then began raising myself up — it hit again. Much harder this time.

I sensed pure evil surrounding me. I slowly turned my head to face whatever it was. But too late — it hit me again in the back… striking me harder and deeper…it felt like it was inside me now. I could hardly breathe and I now realised I was  being possessed…or even about to die.

“Please, God, help me!’ I said in my mind as I began raising myself up again. Immediately I felt what can only be described as a pulling sensation and then I fell onto the bed…’it’ had gone.

A presence of good seemed to fill the room for around a minute and I knew without any doubt that my prayer had saved me. All fear left me and as I lay there. I thought about the question I asked during the seance… “Is there a God?”… I had been given the answer and I have never stopped believing in God since!

New Testament:  Matt 12:43-45: “When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.”

NB. The name ‘GOSS’ is the real surname of the person above, as he is probably still alive and hopefully will see this post and contact me. We have not met since that night in the hotel, but I hope he will recognise this story one day.

After i had my ouija experience and befor my attack, i got deeply into the paranormal, i got all the books going and tried out ESP on my poor hubby and all that, plus astral travel. I think that didn’t help and also led to my attack. After I had the attack i got rid of every book i had, i chucked out about 200 pounds (my pound sign doesnt work on keyboard) worth of books. I didn’t want to sell them as i thought it would cause the next person problems.

  2. eyepriestess says:

So you’re UK then? I’m part Irish too

  3. PAUL says:

oh yeah i read that books etc of occult can attract neg, energy… though i have spell books just little things you buy in crystal shops… i did get lots things of ebay once was a phase i was in… including paintings and such… not paranormal paintings just portraits.. i often wonder if they have residual energies ….though nothing has bothered me…………… YET.
    LOL

  4. eyepriestess says:

You should be ok Paul, it was only because i’d used the ouija and no doubt got something attached, that i thought everthing needed to go afterwards. Try and steer clear from occult games or cards, they are the worry.

  5. PAUL says:

YES…NEAR NEWCASTLE ON TYNE… pardon my caps…. but in countryside…. do get spooky sounds … one night going to bed just switching off this light i heard an owl so loud i thought someone was shouting lol

  6. eyepriestess says:

Ha ha, i can just imagine you, i would have been freaked too…no spookier sound than an owl…omg! I live in the countryside too, but we dont get owls round us, it’s because there are lots of farmers who shoot pheasants, so i suppose that keeps them away.

  7. PAUL says:

yeah i spose you would feel kinda “dirty” after that experience and want rid of things around at that time…. maybe even beleiving that that thing…. was within the items

  8. eyepriestess says:

It was more that i felt as though they were attracting bad stuff, so i got rid JUST IN CASE (you got me doing caps now Paul, lol)

  9. PAUL says:

speaking of pheasent…. i had that couple days ago…. and no one i know online had ever tasted it…lol whats it like… was all i got….

  10. eyepriestess says:

Never tasted it, i only buy chicken and steak. I don’t have a game butchers near me and i dont ever get round to going to the farmers market, coz i normally have a lay in on Saturday morning when they’re held. Weird i know, but not ever had it!

  11. PAUL says:

i do caps and for one word and forget turn them off….
so can you actualy go into some toy stores and buy a ouija?
that was a pleasent interlude about pheasent lol

  12. PAUL says:

well seems no one has had peasent lol

  13. PAUL says:

night…. hope chat more soon…. will go to bed and play my ouija…. lol
    like you do…
wo, i shouldnt said that ;)
sleep well pleasent dreams….ever tried lavander on pillow? it gives vivid dreams…

  14. eyepriestess says:

Yeah, it’s funny how talk drifts onto lighter topics now and then and i agree it is pleasant.

Yes, you can buy ouija in toy stores, but more so in America it seems, mine in Cambridge didn’t have any.

I’m going to have to say goodnight to you Paul, it’s 3am now and now i’m yawning my head off…can normally do 4am at least, but i was up early today, lol

Goodnight Paul!! really enjoyed chatting with you!

  15. eyepriestess says:

We both had same thoughts…apart from the ouija lol. No never tried lavendar on the pillow, i think strong smells like that would make me not sleep, i just don’t know never tried it.

    Goodnight!!!

  16. davidcllns1981 says:

Only irresponsible people mess with Ouija boards.the are deadly and can cause a lot of heartache an pain please don’t mess with them

  17. eyepriestess says:

I agree once you know the truth. Not trying to justify myself, but unless you know the truth behind them, then never play again with these occult games!

  18. PAUL says:

i dont think i would even want to be in same room as a board… incase i got tempted

  19. eyepriestess says:

Even if you’re in the same room and you don’t play you are still at risk, i’ve heard of people who aren’t playing getting the force that is there talking about them.

I would leave if anyone got a board out now!

  20. PAUL says:

ive never seen one…. probably will now im talking about it lol

  21. Isis says:

Wow I would never be tempted to play one of those things, hopefully when my kids get older they never bring one home cause they will certianly see me become a real live demon!

  22. eyepriestess says:

LOl yes that’s how it usually goes Paul.
I’ve heard of people finding them in houses that they moved into…that would really freak anyone out!

  23. eyepriestess says:

Me too Isis, but i’ve drummed it into Lucy about ouija boards, she knows better. Plus, she knows i would turn into something not very nice if she did, lol

  24. Isis says:

LOL! Giuseppe always says it’s best to leave things where they are!

  25. PAUL says:

but you cant really tell if they do it at a friends or anywhere…even a graveyard…if someone wants to do something…..but all you can do is emphasise the dangers…. and particulary if you had a bad experience, which you did..eyepriestess…maybe you also isis i dont know….
yes would be freaky to find in a new house…. cos apart from the scary look…. you cant tell what took place in that house…

  26. eyepriestess says:

My mum says that too, don’t mess around with the unknown!

  27. PAUL says:

    says what@eyepriestess

  28. eyepriestess says:

I know, so this is why people end up with hauntings in their home they just moved into. There’s always that risk that someone has messed around with occult games and then you have to deal with the consequences.

Messing with the ouija doesnt just affect that person who is playing life, if they get something attached then it affects the whole family.

  29. Isis says:

    Hi Paul,

Actually I tried several times and nothing ever happened, but that’s not to say that if I were to try it now nothing would happen, I don’t know I’m better off just staying away from those things!

  30. PAUL says:

i joked with my dad that i would do it, but he said it was “tampering with nature” and he had seen work m8s…terrified doing ouija

  31. PAUL says:

he warned me not to do it

  32. eyepriestess says:

My mum says the same as what Giuseppe says, Isis’s hubby.

  33. PAUL says:

    oooh you were lucky@isis
or not depending how you look at it, but i think for you the former;)

  34. eyepriestess says:

He’s right to warn you. My cousin played it with her work colleagues and what came through was really nasty. They never played it again, they were terrified of it.

  35. Isis says:

I don’t know why it didn’t work for me maybe cause we were joking and trying to call the spirit of Elvis, or maybe you just have to be in a certain place…I don’t know!

  36. PAUL says:

well its just so open to misuse abuse by wicked spirits… people who do it… dont know who they will get , and thats the thrill element…. certainly it seems to attract spirits of the lower order….prob cos they want out of their gloomy existence lol…bit like myself… seriously but… you know what i mean…. people who have evolved spiritualy and have been good people, i recon… have no interest in returning…unless its for good reason…its just my own thoughts on this

  37. eyepriestess says:

It would have worked one day if you’d have kept playing and trying different places. I’m glad it didn’t work for you Isis!

  38. eyepriestess says:

Your on the right track with your thoughts, demons want to get into our dimension and the ouija is a perfect way of doing it. You are inviting them.

  39. Isis says:

I’m glad it didn’t either and I’m glad I read your story because now I would never be tempted to play with one EVER! :)

  40. eyepriestess says:

That’s one of the reasons i set up this site for warning people as well as the enjoyment of the site as well.

  41. Isis says:

Well it is very good advice that everyone should heed!

  42. eyepriestess says:

Thank you Isis, it’s good when someone appreciates! But it is a site for enjoyment too and it’s getting bigger all the time.

  43. Isis says:

I love the forum as well!

  44. storm says:

finally a fellow irish person. even if you are a guy. lol @ paul.
hey eyepriestess. i got the stuff on the anunnaki. ( finally) where shoud i post it.

  45. storm says:

@ paul : wow nice to see someone for near home. am from rep. ireland though. you musta been freaked out huh?
while i was doing some research sometime back my friends “guide” attacked me. apparently it told her i was no good and carried around bad auras that would affect her. courtesy of my crucifix. she’d “blackout” and fight with me. screaming at me, pulling my hair and scratching. then later she’d have no idea why we’d been fighting. a bunch of us asked her to burn the board but she was convinced she was ‘gifted” (thats what her guide told her)to communicate with spirits so she was going to be a medium. last time i saw her was after my 18th birthday and she was slightly batty. talking to herself. last year her parents had her locked up in a psych institution after self mutilating her self and killing the pets.

oh eyepriestess i finally edited the stuff on the anunnaki. where to post it ???

  46. eyepriestess says:

Just email it to me if you like Storm, it would probably be easier for you. Don’t worry about editing or anything, the story is more important.

    Thanks Storm: a_bellini@btinternet.com

  47. PAUL says:

hi dudes anything new with the old hooja?…lol
    anyone DARED
    to try it?

  48. eyepriestess says:

No Paul, i nearly went into a toy store today, but thought, hang on??? there might be ouija boards in there and all the staff might be posessed lol, so i passed and went into Selfridges and believe me those staff were posessed 0:

  49. PAUL says:

lol i never been in selfridges… would love to just glimpse one in a toy store though…. as never seen one in my life ….hey thats good right?

  50. eyepriestess says:

LOl you don’t want to see the staff in Selfridges, if you aren’t dressed right their eyes are red. Remember the film ‘pretty woman’? when she went on a shopping spree in UN-designer clothes and they had nothing to do with her…then she came back all kitted out on Richard Gere’s credit card? ha…those snobby sales girls faces! lol
