True ghost stories submitted by a reader:

I have experienced many things. At my dads house you can hear people down in the basement mostly, but I did hear them in my dads room once. Things would get misplaced, but I only saw a ghost once there.

I was home alone. And the back porch door was open, and right across from that door is the basement entrance. I heard someone, so I went to check it out in the kitchen, and then, I heard someone coming up the stairs from the basement. I crouched down behind the counter top so whoever it was wouldn’t see me. Then I watched as the ghost walked through the basement entrance and straight across into the porch! I was so scared that I ran out the front door and sat on the steps until my dad came home, but I never told him.

I lived in Arkansas Wisconsin for a while, until I was 10, then we moved. We have been in this house for five years. I always get a strong feeling upstairs, that there’s a presence, especially in one of the bedrooms up there. When I felt this presence in my room, I slept in the living room. I barely went up there. But that was only my room for about a few months to a year.

Other than that I just heard things. But a couple of years ago I was up in one of the bedrooms looking for something, and something out on the landing caught my attention. It was a ghostly figure which I watched as it went down the stairs. I dropped what I had in my hand and ran downstairs, and outside and waited until my mom got home, I didn’t tell her, because I didn’t feel it necessary.

A  few months later I saw it again, only I was downstairs . I was on the computer, and I watched as it walked by me, and into the kitchen and then into the laundry room. I thought it could have been my mom, but then I realized that it couldn’t have been, because it didn’t speak to me, and when I got up to check, nothing solid was there! but a gray mist, in the shape of a woman. I went upstairs and checked if mom was sleeping, and she was sound asleep. But at that point, I was shaken up, and I put on music, and slept with/ the lamp on. I was so used to it, that I just got over it.

I usually don’t see anything, and when I hear things I just shake it off, because most is my mind playing tricks, but there are occasions when I know it’s not in my mind! Like the other day I was sitting watching a movie and heard a door creek and then a big thud, but I just went back to my movie. I haven’t been harmed, so I am just happy about that! Because I can’t avoid Ghosts, and I don’t mind them, as long as they don’t hurt me!
