Stories Of Divine Intervention – God And His Angels

EXPERIENCES WITH GOD AND HIS ANGELS

I have heard that angels appear to us in many forms, which I believe is to avoid alarming us. The following stories are remarkable, as there are no logical explanations…other than divine intervention…

RESCUED FROM DROWNING

A young girl swimming in the sea, realised she was in terrible danger when she swam into a swell, and others could not reach her. People watched in horror as she fought to stay afloat. Then a remarkable sight was witnessed, as an extrememly tall man just appeared in the sea (onlookers said it was like he was standing and not swimming, but that would have been impossible for a human as they were quite a way out past the shoreline). He calmly scooped the girl up in his arms and walked effortlessly through the sea and to the beach where he lay her down.

Bystanders were more interested in checking the girl at that point, but when they realised she was unharmed, they turned to look for the man and he was no where in sight.

THE MYSTERIOUS KIND MAN

A woman was driving at night time – deep in thought about her little girl who had died a short while ago, when all of a sudden she felt her tyre go.

She climbed out of her vehicle and looked around. Realising she was on the top of a hill - in the middle of no-where she became very scared and prayed to God. Then in the distance, she could just make out the figure of a person rolling a tyre towards her. She watched as a black man approached her. He said, ‘hello, I have been sent to help you.’

She was at this point more than shocked that someone would just turn up out of no-where and how would he know that she needed a tyre? The man calmly changed her tyre then looked in the boot of the car and said she needed to get her spare tyre looked at as it was no good. When the woman said, thanks to the man, he then walked off, but stopped about 10 yards away and turned around. He said, ‘Jenny (the name of her dead daughter) is ok and don’t worry no more about her.’ The lady was speechless.

Some time later, she had her spare tyre checked, it was as the man had said, useless.

The lady was convinced she had met an angel.

FIGURES IN THE CLOUDS

I know of many angel stories that I would love to share. Since the post is called “Divine Intervention”, I would first like to share a personal experience that I had.

I had a sister who was born in 1963. She was born with Spina Bifida and was not expected to live passed the age of 5. When she was born they had a doctor all the way from England come and perform surgery on her back. She was one of only 3 people at that time to have had the surgery! She lived and was a wonderful, caring person who was an advocate for handicapped persons rights. She was very strong willed and opininated! She held a payed position at the DDSO and was very well known as their spokeswomen. She quoted once in the newspaper how much she liked helping people. We had great times together me and sis! Her name was April but we called her Apple!

My sister passed on last September at the age of 46 years old. 41 years longer than she was expected to live. At her funeral my Dad was quoted as saying to the newspapers, “she was so loved in the community for her endless efforts for handicap rights) ” She was a miracle from the start!”

She passed at 3am and with our time difference I would have no knowledge of that till the next day. The next morning I was standing looking out my kitchen window and in the clouds I saw 2 figures – one of a man sitting in a highbacked throne and another in a flowing robe standing to his right! I couldn’t believe what I was seeing, so I took pics with my cell phone. The only thing that showed up was holes in the clouds where the images were. Later that day I found out about my sister. It took a few weeks but I told the story to my step mom who said she believes that I was the only one meant to see it. I know this was a divine sign telling me my sister is up in Heaven.

When my Father’s Mother, my Grandma, right before she passed, my Dad saw Angels in the clouds!!    (By Isis, copyright 2010).

That was beautiful Isis, and your sister sounds like she was a wonderful person. I don’t doubt she is up there with God and Jesus who stands by his side.

Could you see their faces, the ones in the cloud?

I’m going to put this up in the main post now.

    Thanks for that Isis!! :)

  2. Isis says:

I could clearly see that the man to the right had a beard and a flowing robe I could also make out someone sitting in the high backed throne….but HE was a little unclear!

  3. eyepriestess says:

I’ve taken the comment out and put it up there in the main post Isis.

You were meant to see those figures for comfort i believe. I can only imagine how wonderful a sight that was, you are so privaledged to have seen that!!!

    What did your grandad see?

  4. Isis says:

It was my Dad and when his Mom was close to passing on she had said “they’re coming!” and after my Dad was sitting outside in the yard and up in the pine tree he said he saw angels. Right before my grandmother passed on she said “They’re here!”. Makes me wonder, but grandma was a very devout Catholic!

  5. eyepriestess says:

Wow! that does make you wonder. I heard that happen before, lots of nurses witness similar incidents just before patients die.

  6. Isis says:

I’ve heard that too but it is comforting to know that we have them and that there is something after death!

  7. eyepriestess says:

    I know!

Heaven is after death though i believe, not ghostly wanderings about.

  8. Isis says:

They say we all have a guardien angel……….believe me once we smacked a tree at 80 mph on my side with no seatbelts on and I felt a arm pressing me across the chest and was not hurt. The police marked the skid marks and said “Do you know how lucky you are?”

  9. jeff says:

If you believe the Bible, in the first book called “Genisis” there was a man, Enoch, that served God so well that God translated him and took him to Heaven, never having to experience Death. Well, I am no saint, so I’m planning on the “death stop” before I go.

We can’t all be saints I guess.

    jeff

  10. eyepriestess says:

Isis, that is remarkable at that speed, it wasn’t your time obviously, thank goodness or i would never have met you!!

Jeff, i think that will be my course too, if i go there that is, lol

  11. Isis says:

    Hey Jeff thanks for commenting!

  12. scarygirl67 says:

What beautiful experiences…and I completely believe that the sign was there for you to see..that’s why you couldn’t capture the picture.

That’s what I believe about proof of the paranormal..it may not be found, because so much depends on faith…not science. I think that science explains a lot…but it doesn’t explain everything. Thank you so much for sharing these…they made my day!

  13. eyepriestess says:

That is well said Scary, i too believe that most paranormal experiences are personal – for whatever reason that may be. It is unfortunate that whoever has these experiences are then subject to doubt or ridicule though. I’ve said this many times before, but i believe that there is some kind of universal law that will not allow the paranormal to be made into a public spectacle on say, TV for instance. It is ‘just personal’ in most instances. That is the way it is! And like you said, it is most very likely due to faith.

  14. Greg says:

    Isis and others,

Maybe I’m just not living right. I’ve been stranded on the highway in a blizzard, nearly got killed driving an old beat up Vega because the steering linkage was almost gone. I did a lot of fast praying and counter steering at the same time, and all the police and other motorist across the highway stopped to watch me to see if I would make it or not. My car did 180 degree turns two or three times. I would have collided with them had I not been counter steering so fast. I could see the on coming traffic to my left because my car was perpendicular to the direction I was travelling.

I am amazed with the story of the woman with a flat tyre in the middle of nowhere…, especially the comment the angel made about her deceased child.

It is funny how angels appear at the oddest times, they look like us, they talk like us, and everything they do or say is perfect. I know the Bible says we should treat strangers kindly because we may be entertaining angels unaware. Makes me wonder if I’ve done any real good. I’d truly love to meet one and talk for hours. I did once in a dream. The angel answered all my questions, but the moment I woke up, I could recall nothing He said. I mean I asked some pretty hard questions, really putting Him to the test. I half expect Him to show up again and put me to the test!

  15. eyepriestess says:

Somone was looking out for you there Greg!!! I’m glad you are OK!

I heard an Angel once (well twice actually, but this was the main one) Greg, it was one night i was crying over my dog who had drowned about a year ago and i just started talking to her as though she was laid on me, then i heard someone talk to me very clearly and comforting, but i was in a slumber state, i wanted to get up and write down what i heard, but i couldn’t move, it was like i was drugged. It wasn’t like SP, (sleep paralysis) it was more an over tired, exhausted state i was in. Anyway, i fell asleep so deep after, i didn’t wake until late morning and then although i remember hearing the voice, i couldn’t recall any of the words said to me. I know this could be put down to a dream, but i wasn’t dreaming when i heard her, i was crying so much over my dog, i was awake, i know that. I have never told this before in writing, i always kept this to myself as it sounds so far fetched, but it did happen. I wonder if i wasn’t meant to remember it, and it was only supposed for my soul or something to remember.

I have also felt an Angel too, just before my ex husband’s step father committed suicide. I was stood in the lounge watching tv and thinking about my ex husband’s dad who had just been arrested. I was also looking out towards the kitchen and back door, which was open and i was keeping an eye on my daughter who was a toddler at the time. Then as i was stood there, i felt hands go from the top of my shoulders and down my back in a comforting way. I turned round fast and saw nothing, but i felt this for about 10 seconds. I couldn’t understand why it happened at the time and i wasnt afraid at all. Anyway the next day my father-in-law committed suicide and i was blamed. He had been caught touching up a 5 yr old neighbour boy by his wife. She told me about it, but did nothing to stop the boy coming round any further. Since he had abused my husband when he was a young boy, i knew i had to stop this happening to the neighbour boy and so i told the police and he was arrested. He admitted abusing my ex husband, but wouldnt admit to the boy. Anyway, he committed suicide shortly after being arrested when he was let out after questioning. Everyone blamed me for it as it was never told about the neighbour boy, Jean (my ex husband’s mother) denied telling me about the boy, so i got death threats off the family members and this nearly caused me to commit suicide too. Those hands were remembered by me in the rough weeks that followed his suicide, i knew they had comforted me like that for a reason.

  16. Art says:

I would like to share my Divine Intervention experience with all of you. I have not told many people about this except for a small number of close family members. After reading the comments on this site, I feel compelled to share it with all those who walk in the light of God.

I’m not a religious zealot nor hold any religious seat or position. To the contrary, I am a trained Engineer with an innate analytical, scientific approach and mentality to most of life’s experiences. But this one night sent my whole world of understanding upside down.

It was about 9pm during mid Fall when I drove back from watching a movie with a friend of mine. I was taking him back to his apartment that night. We were just approaching his block before a red light brought us to a complete stop at the 4 way intersection.. Everything seemed normal as I waited for the light to turn green. And soon the light turned green and it was my turn to cross the intersection. As I began to put my right foot onto the gas pedal things suddenly started to change. As I looked across the intersection and the green light, my vision started to become distorted much like looking into a rounded fish bowl. This fish bowl lens effect first start gradual then quickly progressed.

Then I also noticed some sort of sound distortion as if a tape recording was low on batteries and sounded like slow motion sound. I then had noticed that the car was not moving. My foot was frozen and I could not push down on the gas pedal to move the car. I tried with every effort my muscles were capable of when suddenly I heard a voice firmly and loudly spoken in my left ear. The voice said, “Don’t go!” And yet I still tried with every effort to press down on the gas pedal. And again the voice became loud and kept saying, “Don’t go!”. It felt like 1 min or more had passed already and I was still barely entering the intersection. My friend sitting in the passenger seat slowly came into my peripheral vision as he slowly leaned over to veer into my face and blurted out a distorted slow motion audio statement that sounded like, “Wwwhhhhaaatttt aaarrrrrrrreee yyyooouuuuu ddooooooiiiinnnggg!”. At this point in time, I knew that something I was perceiving here was not exactly normal. Time was passing by, I was immobile, the car was standing still, the world around me looked like a bubble with distorted sound effects, there was an voice coming out of nowhere telling me not to go.

Then suddenly, bam! Everything went back to normal! No fish lens bubble, I can now press down on the gas pedal, the car began to move forward, and I could now understand what my friend was saying. It only took 2 seconds before the car reached the middle of the intersection when suddenly a very large red diesel dump truck barreling down close to 70 mph missed my front bumper by 1 foot. Just the force of the dump trucks’ movement of the air shook my car bouncing on its suspension. The dump truck had deliberately ran a red light and missed from colliding with my car broadside by a mere few seconds. I had just realized that my life was just sparred that night as I quickly pulled over on the other side of the intersection to regain my wits about me.

It took a while for me to piece all of this together to make sense of it. But the resulting conclusion was fairly easy to see for both of us. For some reason, we missed the collision by seconds only because some kind of divine intervention had prevented this from happening. I asked my friend what he saw before I had crossed the intersection with my car. And he told me that I had a blank stare on my face almost as if I went into a trance. I was frozen and he was trying to get my attention. He said he asked me what I was doing, why I wasn’t going. He told me that I was in this trance state for almost 6 -10 seconds before I started to move again.

Since then I have reviewed this event in my mind over and over trying to understand it better. I have asked my friend to recall the event more than a few times to try and get more details and information. In conclusion, I can say that what I experienced was a time warp of which my perception of time and possibly the space around me had actually slowed down. Even Einstein’s theory of relativity explains that as time slows down, the space surrounding you bends or warps which could explain the fish bowl lens effect as well as the slow distorted audios sounds. But it does not explain the loud normal sounding voice that was telling me, “Don’t go!”. I believe this to be of a divine Angel that immobilized me from pressing the gas pedal. I have also studied and researched events involving people who have under gone true real life trances. These are of real documented events of some people undergoing these trances. And all of them have the highest level of psychic abilities that go into real trances. Scientist have even tested their vitals signs, monitored breathing and so forth. Some were found to have vitals and breathing beyond their comprehension and would possibly end up in death to most people. Some people in trances could not actually be moved even by 4 very large and strong people trying to pick them up physically. The point being that something real in terms of physics was going on here where divine intervention of Angels can modify the physics of the world we are in. So can you be a Scientist and be a believer of God and divine intervention? YES!

Hello Art, a great story, with important questions. I hope that all who found this site are “free thinkers”, once a derisive term in Old Victoriana, and still suspect in many consevative societies. I would advance a few ideas… First of all, I do not think sceintific discipline anbd spritual experiences are mutually exclusive. Even the great Einstein was working on the Unified Field Theory at the time of his death. As an avowed agnostic, this premise, condensed to a bullion cube, was work on a mathematical/algebraic/physics proof that some higher power was governing all. Even the greatest minds of all time saw a bigger hand in all proceedings. Sceintific induction seels to ex-plain all. This is needed-and noble, but to a certain point on a continuum. There is a point on the continuum where it is simply too large to explain.
I may be a castigated as a total heretic but I think the Testaments are a simplified version of the complex and largely misunderstood relations between multiple realities. I look at the struggle bewtween the Lord and Satan for control of the World as a simple battle between Light and Darkness. Satan is simply a god-head for otherworld forces that want to enter our reality through (some) shamans, (some) spirits and recruited representatives among us that want to disrupt our reality. These negative sprits are weak, but they try hard. I sense this, and I sense it is also almost too comp[lex for myself. Perhaps a sceintific mind can explain it, someday.
I had my first (and best love of my life die in my arms of leukemia. It was in a hospital in Seattle, and I sitictly remember hearing dogs that were being experimented on barking on the flot above. My love’s mother, Guadalupe, said

  18. JHC says:

Finishing up, Guadalupe said that her daughter would always intercede on my behalf in a devine way. After some indirect experiences I believe it!
She is my angel on my shoulder. I survived several experiences that logically, I should have lost my life. So I believe I have an angel on my shoulder? You bet!
Most spirits we talk of here are negative. However, the positive sprits that protect us are even more elusive to explain. There is a great mystery here, but for many reasons we will not see a logical explanation in our lifetime. In Navajo, it is called the beautyway. In Anglo-European society we call it “walking in the light”. An intelligent person can find a rational balance between thier intellects and their sprituality.

  19. eyepriestess says:

Thanks Art for submitting that, i only had time to read it properly today.

These kind of stories are wonderful to read, and your comment at the end, ‘can scientists be believer’s in God and divine intervention? Yes’, is music to my ears. I often listen to people, mainly scientists, etc who rip apart the paranormal during tv programmes and i feel so frustrated at their close minds.

Would you like me to make a post of your story, rather than just told under comments?

Sorry to hear of your loss JHC, but i’m not sure i understand the connection with the dogs? I may have missed something in reading.

  20. JHC says:

EP, that was one garbled and typo’d to death passage! Sorry! I am somewhat dyslexic. It is more than o.k. to edit!

This Seattle hospital was a pioneer in bone marrow transplant treatments for leukemia patients. The dogs were actually up on the next floor, in cages. They used them for experimentation for such treatments. I doubt that they still experiment with animals. The treatment actually worked. Barbara died of pneumonia, as all of her natural defenses were gone, along with the leukemia. Barbara has been gone for over three decades, so I am well over it! That smart, brave, adventurous and funny woman will always be my favorite memory and one of the most positive parts of my spirit.

  21. eyepriestess says:

JHC, it wasn’t typo’d to death…just a little bit confusing that is all (i should talk lol)…no apologies necessary for dyslexia, it must be very frustrating for you and other sufferers.

I need to re-read your comments above. Were the dogs responsible for a resbite period during Barbara’s illness? she sounds a wonderful lady… decades ago or not, characters like that are few and far between and will always remain in your heart.

  22. JHC says:

Ah, EP, dyslexia is a two-edged sword…The bad news is it is a disability…You cannot type well (even though I have typed for decades). Reading is possible, but requires re-reading to comprehend important points. The good news is you can conceive, execute and create art. Statistically, most artists are dyslexic, because of their right-brain orientation.

The whole test-dog thing was something that was somewhat extraneous to the tale. Here I am holding this woman I desperately love, and watching her EKG flatline, and hearing dogs barking on the floor above. Again, a little levity/nonsense/irony to such solemn proceedings! I should have worked more on a good novelistic climax, but USA literature has lots of daffy irony! The good thing was Barbara passed at dusk, and the dogs were quiet, or at least I did nt hear them. The family was was waiting in the hallway, and I came out and told them she was gone. We got in a circle and sobbed together. Oh, the sadness of that brilliant young life cut short still makes me weep! She was only 23; I was 25. It took me years to recover, and all I feel is a deep enrichment of her presence in my existence in life and death. Her death was the very moment where I went from boy to man, and that itself is a gift that can command no price. Her spirit is so close, warm on my back. How dearly I wish I could see her just one more time!

  23. Isis says:

    ART,

Wow that is an amazing experience that you had thank-you for sharing that with us. That is unexplainable except if you do believe in Divine Intervention as I do. I believe that your guardian Angel was there watching over you. I must admit that story gave me chills but in a good way! I believe that Angels are all around us!

  24. eyepriestess says:

Hi Isis, i know you have had your fair share of Divine experiences, which are published on this site.

  25. Isis says:

These are all wonderful experiences that give us proof to the exsistance of Angels! JHC I’m sorry.

  26. JHC says:

Isis, One thing of like-minded people, whether online or in a room drinking coffee or tea together,
is an almost kinetic energy. Art’s remarkable tale reinforces what others say here. Also, it illuminates the possibility of keeping our intellect and recognizing other realities at work, that cannot be rationally explained.

At a moment last night while writing here, my memories of Barbara came rushing at me and I was so overcome with sadness…but not alone. It had been a while since I thought of Barbara, and her consderable impact on my life. Her spirit was close, warming and reassuring. The rest of the time I am my usual dour grumpy self! Thanks for your kind sentiment, but I am not sorry, nor self-pitying. I just miss the woman sometimes! The tale reminds me of my exciting and novelistic youth, and more importantly how we all aquire wisdom with maturity(the ONLY good thing about aging!). I had many other rich expeiences and loves, but nothing as defining as that dramatic tempestous turn with a dying young woman. The only great event in my life was knowing intimately this soul that was far greater than my own! If I died tomorrow I can go to my grave knowing that I lived. Barbara gave me that strange and wonderful gift! Life might be worth the living for just one great experience. I am only richer for it. Consider me blessed!

  27. eyepriestess says:

Oh JHC, you put that so well…you should write again!! Barbara sounded like one of those special people who touch many people in their short time on earth…what a legacy!!!

  28. Isis says:

That’s true there are people who touch you profoundly in life that leave a lasting impression/impact. It’s sad but gives us hope also. First the “why” and “why this”, then comes the anger or regret, perhaps the bargin of how it will all go differently next time, if only this or that could happen now. Then comes the sadness. Finally acceptance comes . Knowing, acknowledging ,accepting we can move on. We may step back a time or two, on an anniversary date, at the scent of something that brings this moment and this lose to mind. But the pain will lessen as it moves through time
