POLTERGEISTS

What are poltergeists? (German meaning – polter, to knock – geist, spirit, or noisy ghost).

There are two main theories…one being - a discarnate entity who attaches itself to ‘usually’ one person in particular.

The other – a person in such a state of stress, that they internally generate negative energy. This invariably leads to emotional and external destruction in many ways.

Poltergeists are probably the most frequent type and cause of hauntings, which is a global phenomenon.

If you have ever seen the film ‘Poltergeist’, this gives you an exagerated understanding of the kind of chaos poltergeist activity can cause, which may only last briefly - if you are lucky. But, for the less fortunate, it could last months… or even years!

If you are not already aware, the film’s franchise was feared to be carrying a curse for many reasons - more so when two of its leading character’s died prematurely.

The first to die was Dominique Dunne (1959 – 1982), who played Carol Anne’s older sister, Dana. She died at the hands of her boyfriend, who strangled her outside her family home when she refused to go back to him.

Then, Heather O Rourke (1975 – 1988), who played Carol Anne and spoke the famous tag line, ‘they’re here’. She died after septic shock took over her body during an operation. This then resulted in cardiac arrest.

Many people could be manipulated into thinking poltergeist phenomenon is taking place… when in fact, some of the time (when not internally generated)  it is demonic. If anything gives out intense negative and evil energy, this may suggest it is something other than poltergeist activity. To read more…click on this!

I read alot about demons, and im scared to death of seeing one. Hope I never do. I liked how you describe the demons up there, it sums it all up.
You are from England aren’t you?

    Laura,

the post is really about poltergeists, but yes I did mention demons too. I personally think that many demons are mistaken for poltergeists. JMO

I am from England. How about you, where are you from?

i always say i dont believe in this stuff but truth be known i cant stop looking at stories like these and they really scare me to death, not from the thought of demons or poltergeists but what happens if all this lot is true a whole new perception on life would be necessary and that would then change almost everything! how freaky would that be?

  4. admin says:

    Stevie,

I used to think that way too, but once I was given proof, then yes, a WHOLE new perception on life took place, which unfortunately brings with it – embaressment and ridicule from people who just refuse to believe this is possible. This is the downside of experiencing the paranormal, but the good side is, it is one of the most exciting occurances that can ever happen to you, in that, you KNOW there is an afterlife.

Another good side for me…it eventually caused me to firmly believe in God and that I am thankful for. I only wish the people I love and care about would see that it is almost impossible to carry on remaining so passionate about this subject if it were doubtful that I was witness to it.

Thanks for posting such an insightful comment!

I think I have a poltergeist in my house. Every night I hear knocking on the walls and sometimes flickers of colorful lights or fire flies, after I turn the lights out.
Recently my picture tube in my Tv, in my bedroom blew up, while I was watching it in bed. It made a loud pop and I could smell smoke. I hurried and unplugged it.
Today My bath room vanity light blew up, while I was taking a shower.
It actually made a loud pop and shattered into pieces all over my bathroom. Do you think that is a poltergeist or a Demon?
I’m starting to get concerned, because I have had other spirit activity also.

  7. eyepriestess says:

    Nancy,

that happened to me once, where my bathroom light fitting just dropped onto the floor and smashed. I automatically assumed at first that this was paranormal and dashed out of the bathroom. After i had calmed down i began to think that it could just be that it had dropped off its fitting naturally.

In your case you seem to be having too many electrical faults, which means you need to firstly have an electrician investigate before you put it down to paranoral activity.

What other spirit activity have you had?

  8. nancy says:

eyepriestess, I had some misty images in my bedroom for a long time, after I brought home a dream catcher My husband saw three women in our bedroom one night and a woman and child another night. He moved out of the bedroom and I got rid of the dream catcher.
I haven’t seen anymore misty figures, but I have the knocking sounds and sparkles and fire flies every night, after I turn the lights out.
Maybe it is static electricity, because when I get up at night, I hear zapping sounds, like you hear when you rub your shoes on the rug and touch someone. Maybe I should get an electrition out here before I call on an excorist. :)

  9. eyepriestess says:

    Nancy,

yes, hold back on the exorcist at the moment :)

Maybe this is more than just electrical faults though if you and your husband are seeing things too.

May I suggest you compile everything together and post it to me, we can put this up as a post rather than it being hidden in the comments section. This will hopefully attract readers attention, then we may be able to get to the bottom of this.

Firstly though, I really would see about having your wiring looked at, at least if it isn’t that we can start to look into the paranormal side in more depth.

  10. CoCo says:

Nancy, I to think you should definitely have your wiring checked before taking any other measures. It is very possible that there could be high surges of electricity in the wiring that are causing so many lights to suddenly blow. Although, for them to shatter, I would think it’s much more than just electrical problems.

However, entities are energy and I believe that they can also produce the same effect as electrical surges. But, power surges would not account for the knocking your hearing. Do you feel an evil presence when these things are happening? How long has this been going on? And, did anything happen right before these things started? For instance, a traumatic event, or even anything new brought into the home. Not brand new, just new to you like an antique or even just a used piece of furniture.

As far as the dreamcatcher, it is believed that the webs of the dreamcatcher traps bad dreams and the first light of the morning burns them up. Good dreams are allowed to fall through the holes in the web and down through the feathers into the sleeping person below the dreamcatcher. They are believed to be a form of protection, which you probably already know.

I really don’t know a lot about dreamcatchers and I’m not really sure I believe they really do what they’re suppose to do or not. I do know that many ancient cultures have truly believed in their power of protection from nightmares.

CoCo, When things became very noticeable, was about two years ago.
A lot happened in my life that year. We had several wind storms an d I had damage to my house.
I live on the desert and wind storms are frequent, but that year they were worse than ever.
We even had a toronado that took my carport off and half of my shingles. Where I live there is a lot of Quart rock and minerals in the soil. I have heard that attracts poltergeist. I’m not sure if that is true or not. I think I read it somewhere.

My sister in Oregon had a stroke and while visiting her, my brother gave me the dream catcher.
It was after I returned home, that I started noticing the knocking on the walls and misty images and my husband [the non believer] started seeing women in the bedroom.
I haven’t seen the misty images for a long time, but the knocking on the walls have continued.

I am going to have the electricity checked out as soon as I can find an electrition. :)

    Thank s! :)
