Ouija Boards – Petition

6366ed64fc59bba41

Ouija boards are sold in ‘toy’ stores worldwide…did you know?

The film, ‘The Exorcist’ was based on truth and began with the main character ‘Regan’ messing around with a Ouija board. This film was based on the real life events of a boy named, Roland Doe whose ouija board games caused turmoil for his family and the Jesuit Priests.

There are so many scary stories of people and especially children who have dabbled with Ouija boards.

Please add your signature (or comment) in our petition below:

We will print and take this petition to toy stores who buy ouija boards and hopefully when we have a substantial amount of protesters, we can convince toy stores to ban them.

  1. I think this actually might be a good idea. I just hope that it gets wide exposure and a LOT of people read it. If you havent already read the much longer, more detailed post here about the dangers of Ouija boards then I would also recommend that check it out http://www.worldmysteriesandtrueghosttales.com/the-dangers-of-ouija-boards/

I have always wondered why such a thing came to be thought of as a kids toy. We dont see voodoo dolls, scrying crystals, tarot cards and the like at a toy store so why should we see these things! It makes no sense to me.

i completely detest the idea of selling ouija boards as ordinary toys……………….moreover the parents have to carefully watch their children’s behaviour and their acquaintances very carefully…………….hey!!!!!!!! i’m not asking them to be spy on their children but having an eye on them would prevent disasters.

i congradulate you for striving towards a good cause!

  3. I agree that Ouija Boards should not be sold as toys to children.

It amazes me that the “Church” have never done anything about this.

  4. With Kids dabbling in smoking, drugs, knife crime and alcohol, the last thing we need is kids using Oujia Boards, they should be all be removed!

The stories from this website are all too familiar, when I was about 9 my mother sat me down to do a Ouija board session. I thought my mother was moving the glass, (shes always lied and physically abused us as kids). she continually would give me books of witch craft and other such books over the years before I left home. she took me to a physic when I was 9 and the lady told mum that I was very powerful and that she could’nt read me at all. i remember the visit so vividly, she looked at me for so long and at the time I thought we were at a new friend of my mothers so didn’t understand why she was looking so intently at me. but i remember hearing this lady telling me to let her in, but she wasn’t speaking to me with her mouth, just still staring at me. I remember saying no in my head and then completely blocked her out. after that visit my mother started giving me books of physic nature and everthing supernatural and had Ouija board sessions, which i found annoying, not interesting. I was never interested in the supernatural until my mother forced it upon me. I have since then had numerous encounters with ghosts/demons. i am now 31 years old and i could tell you stories that would make your hair curl. i have made believers out of skeptics. i have never talked to physics or contacted people who deal with the supernatural. Ive blocked the supernatural world out since i was 18 because i want to protect my children, although in times of weakness it has reared its ugly head through out the years. i think its time to get answers for myself. Is there someone or a organization that i could contact to get answers here in New Zealand.

As this is a petition, I can only answer you here and then delete, but I have moved this under the ‘ouija board’ section. There you will be able to receive comments to this, as well as leaving this here also as part of the petition.

I do not know any New Zealand organisations, maybe someone else can help you here?

only just noticed this. Add my vote too

I am in agreement with this and its long overdue; how many times I see self proclaimed experts telling the impressionable there is no danger..when in fact this is a invitation by the participant for a spirit to use their body as a communication device ie: your hand and arm on the planchette; here in lies the problem that brings attachment. Just as you dial a random phone number not knowing who or what kind of person is on the receiving end this would apply to contact through the Ouija to the spirit world.

  10. UglyNRude says:

All for removing them, 1/4 of the investigation requests we get involve using an Ouija Board.

  11. Cassiel says:

U&R all the more support for removal of them as a toy item; its a great idea but will never be done.
especially in America because of the free enterprise and no one believes they are a problem. That is until they themselves find an attatchment from using the Ouija..

  12. rlorenzana says:

i agree get rid of them!

  13. Karl says:

I agree ouija boards are bad because my mom has told about her experiences (which I will probably post later).

  14. Nathan says:

I remember days when I was laughing from “ouija in toy shops”… these days are gone now, and I’m with you guys – Ouija should not be available for people who treat it as a toy.

  15. Lynn says:

i agree with taking them off the market completely.these are definitely not toys and very powerful.whoever invented these boards was clearly not right!

  16. scarygirl67 says:

Ever since I tried one as a child to contact the spirit of my grandfather, I have been terrified of Ouija boards. I didn’t contact my grandfather, but something came in that should have been left alone. Marketing this as a children’s toy is the reason one was in my house in the first place. Definitely take them off the store shelves. If people are adamant about using one, they should only be sold in shops that are geared toward the occult. My opinion is that they should be left alone altogether, but that is only my opinion. But having it sold as a game is beyond irresponsible.

  17. Karen M. says:

where do I sign? You just have Karen, by sending this in, thank you :)

  18. Sabrina says:

I agree completely, I used to think they were harmless but after reading about the damage they can do I am against them 100%.

  19. Hannah says:

I totally agree with you. Add my vote. I believe that the people who made those boreds should be charged with child endagerment, attempted murder, and assault.

Attempted murder is what happens when you bring the ouija into your house, along with assault, nonetheless mess with it.

  20. Imeni says:

Can’t stress it enough, O-boards need to go. As someone else suggested, if they must be made available, limit them to occult-oriented stores. I have never tried one myself & never will, won’t allow them in my home; I’ve had enough difficulties of my own with spirit manifestations, thankfully nothing too serious!! People do not take the board seriously, tempt fate & then wonder why things go so wrong.

  21. If I could just cut in at this point, I’d just like to thank all of you for signing this, it is so good of you all and you obviously know what harm these Ouija boards can do.

  22. Haunted says:

Yes! Ouija boards should definitely be banned from store shelves. They shouldn’t be sold at all, but if they are going to be sold, it should only be in occult shops. These dangerous weapons of evil are not toys and should not be made so readily available to the public.

  23. rebecca says:

I agree as well, if you need my signature, I would be more than happy to give it to you.
Please contact me via e-mail so that I can get my signature to you, and add my vote
as well. You have a really good story, don’t hesitate to continue to share it with whoever
will listen. You could very well save someone else from going thru a dangerous
experience. The Lord sent you that man to release you from that evil, so that you could
prevent it from happening to another person.

To Rebecca, thank you very much, this acts as a kind of signature that you kindly added a comment here :)

  24. Tela says:

    YOU HAVE MY VOTE

  25. Heather Tyson Latawiec says:

Please include me in the petition against toy stores selling Ouija boards. There has been enough negativity associated with these over the years that I am surprised they DO still sell them. I guess anything for the almighty buck. Good luck in your quest to have them removed. You definitely have my vote. God/Goddess Bless us all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  26. rissa says:

even though i do agree in banning them from toy stores there are also many places where you can buy them like my mom orders hers off the internet

  27. liz says:

i will petition this as well to get rid of the Ouija Boards.

  28. Abby says:

I agree we rid the ouija board!

  29. This comment wouldn’t go through from Sabrina, so i have copied and pasted it here:

Me and two of my friends were playing a ouija board a while ago, and we started talking to this spirit who claimed to be one of my friends’ ‘guradian angel’. It spelt out her birthday. We asked if it knew either one of us, and it spelt out my name. My friend then asked if it could see us and it said yes, she then asked what colour hair I had, it said ‘brown’ which is true.
Is this spirit for real? Or was it just some demon trying to connect to us?

  30. Brittany says:

OMG!! i just read the story about Shelly and her friends (R.I.P Mike, Crissy, and i think Amber) and i definitely agree that we should get rid of Ouija Borads period. they shouldnt be sold in ANY type of stores especially toy stores. I WILL DEFINITELY BE A SUPPORTER OF THIS PETITION AND WILL TRY AND GET OTHERS TO READ THE STORY I READ AND SIGN THE PETITION!

  31. Peter says:

My older brother screwed with one of those boards, He told me Grandpa (R.I.P) contacted him and his friends through the board and told him to stop whatever he was doing and just burn the board. He never told me anything else Grandpa had said, but it still gives him chills every time I mention Grandpa.

I also read the story of Shelly and now I won’t even go near one of those boards never the less use it.

  32. The One Who Cares says:

I am a firm believer that there are evil spirits crossing back and forth from our dimension to the netherworld. I have experienced phenomenon without even touching a ouija board. I have been confronted by negative entities twice in my life span. Evil will try to find its way to you without even tampering with taboo. I am a living testament. BAN THE OUIJA!!!! We must protect the innocent souls of God’s children who fall victim to this deceitful game. May God keep us all!

  33. Garry says:

Anything associated with evil should not be tried
The Ouija board is not a toy – how stupid are the makers of such a device by making something none god contemplated that any religion in the world would accept.

I believe there is a dark place waiting for anyone who sells these boards and for manufacturers that make them.

  34. nick says:

most ppl dont belive in ghost and things like that so it most likely wont get petioned

  35. nick says:

    i also agree tho

  36. Thanks Nick, but I promise you I will do everything I can to get this petitioned. Thank you for petitioning.

  37. Brenda Rocha says:

I agree, there are so many stories that involves demons or evil entities because of the Ouija board.

  38. dawn says:

I agree that the ouija board is not a toy it is for the use of devil worshpers innocent childern shoudnt be subjected to such evil this world is full of enough temptation and children will have a hard enough time chosing what is right rather than what is wrong.evil exists all around us and the ouija board is a gateway to letting them into your life and once they are there it is hard to get rid of demons and the devil this board isnt a toy and dosent belong in toy stories signed dawn

  39. Clair W. says:

I am totally against usage of the Ouija Board. The selling of these boards in toy store is totally wrong, because they are occult instruments. Children will buy these boards and could end up possessed by evil spirits entering their souls. These boards are definitely not toys and you have to have knowledge, of how to use them and protect yourself, from spirits crossing over. They should only, be sold in occult stores and should definitly be banned, from regular stores selling them.
These boards are not instruments of innocent game playing, but can get very serious and can lead to death, sometimes. Many years ago, I innocently bought a Ouija Board not knowing anything serious about it. I had thought it was a game, because it was sold in the toy section! I am now very sorry I ever bought it and actually, at the time I broke it up and threw it in the garbage chute of my apartment building. The mistake I did, was not to inform myself of the probelms you can encounter when using the board. Always learn as much as you can on anything you buy that can harm you! Many years back, I always felt the Ouija Board should not be sold in the Toy Store or any other stores, other than an occult store. A petition should definitely be done to remove these boards from easy access.

  40. Suzy says:

Add my vote too, ouija boards should be banned from toy stores.

  41. Kyle says:

You have my VOTE. They can make a mess of your life.

  42. My Mom said it was a fun game that she played as a teenager. She said that it wasn’t real and she and her cousins would move the thing around and make it say things. She thought my sister and I would enjoy one and when were in High School she gave us one as an early Christmas present. We took it to our room and put it on the shelf in our closet, later that night I couldn’t sleep and lay there feeling as if some one willing me to invite them “in”. The next morning I looked as bad as I felt. I asked my sister if she had been able to sleep and she said she but it was fitfull and full of strange dreams. We both agreed the Ouija Board had to go when she heard what I had to say (we had also had a seance experience three of four years prior and knew we were headed for trouble). I took straight into the kitchen where my Mother was fixing breakfast and told her neither one us wanted anything to do with it and we demanded that she return that very day. We told her we would rather not have any Christmas if a Ouija Board were involved. She thought we had lost our minds, but at the same time she could see we were dead serious – so back it went. Leave these stories with the petition. Store managers, owners, etc. need to read these experiences, then maybe they will see this is anything but a child’s toy – unless your child is the Anti-Christ!! Robbie

  43. krys says:

I also believe they should not be sold in toy stores.. they are not toys… they are very sierious and cause many problems…

  44. chailicom says:

  45. LOLA says:

BAN OUIJA BOARDS! BAN! BAN! BAN!

  46. Original says:

GET RID OF THE EVIL OUIJA BOARD!!!! I’m SOO glad you are doing this. GET RID OF THE EVIL OUIJA BOARD!!!

  47. TOM says:

I think that part of the problem might be that the ENTIRE PREMISE of the ouija is wrong. What most people probably don’t think about is what you’re inadvertently saying to spirits when you start to use a ouija board. No one says anymore (if they ever did) ‘Excuse me…would you like to talk to me and could I ask you a few questions? I’d appreciate it but I’ll fully understand if you don’t want to. Just give me a sign.’ They take out the ouija (or whatever divining device), put it on the table and through their mannerisms and immediate question asking say, ‘I’ve asked a question and you’re GOING to answer.’ One major problem is that spirits probably don’t like this, on top of there being bad spirits out there just waiting to come in and cause havoc. Would you like it? Would you like that presumptuousness? You’re in a restaurant, sitting by yourself at a table. Someone comes over to you, sits down on the seat on the opposite side of your booth, and immediately just starts constantly talking to you and asking questions without even introducing him or herself and you can tell they want an ANSWER NOW. Would you like that? That’s what you’re doing when you use a ouija board. You’re coming over to and mentally entering their turf and saying “ANSWER!” Probably not the best way to win spirit friends. Ask permission/for a rap maybe or a feeling of “Yes, I’ll talk to you/help you” or “no. I don’t want to talk right now. go away.” I think too many people forget that they’re not dealing with a board. they’re dealing with people…with spirits and intelligences who can be hurt, amused, delighted/angered etc. Even in the spirit world the golden rule still applies. Do unto others as you would have them to unto you.

  48. Maritza says:

N0 OuiJa Boards…U have my vote!

  49. Tom, that is so true, an old friend of mine who used to conduct protected help seances for spirits who hadn’t realised they had died used to say, talk to them as you would people who are living.

  50. Tonja Brown says:

Ouija Boards are NOT toys and can summon the other side.

I know this for a fact.

A friend of mine and myself fooled around with an Ouija Board in 1984, while both of our husbands were out of state. They both worked together cleaning up train wrecks.

Not very long afterwards, I would say well over a week later, I was home alone with my infant daughter, as my husband was called out of state again because of a train wreck.

It was early in the evening and I was in the kitchen washing dishes… when from behind and to my right I heard a voice say my name very rapidly. It only said my name once, and nothing else. I whipped my head back and to my right and expected to see someone standing there, but there was no one.

There were no windows behind me at all. And behind me to my right was just more kitchen area and the refrigerator, and then the wall to another bedroom.

Needless to say, this freaked me out. I immediately went into my bedroom to check on my baby. I took her out of the crib and both of us went to the living room, where we both slept together that evening on the couch.

A couple of days later I burned the Ouija Board and have never touched one since.

BAN OUIJA BOARDS AS TOYS ! THEY ARE NOT TOYS !
