Ouija Boards – Petition

6366ed64fc59bba41

Ouija boards are sold in ‘toy’ stores worldwide…did you know?

The film, ‘The Exorcist’ was based on truth and began with the main character ‘Regan’ messing around with a Ouija board. This film was based on the real life events of a boy named, Roland Doe whose ouija board games caused turmoil for his family and the Jesuit Priests.

There are so many scary stories of people and especially children who have dabbled with Ouija boards.

Please add your signature (or comment) in our petition below:

We will print and take this petition to toy stores who buy ouija boards and hopefully when we have a substantial amount of protesters, we can convince toy stores to ban them.

money is not the root of all evil—the love of money is the root of all evil. if you are gonna quote, please quote correctly.

the love of money is what keeps people selling ouija boards, frozen foods, shoe strings and everything else.

i do not think this petition will help, but i will sign it. if anything it should at least come with a printed warning like alcohol and cigarettes.

  2. Sasha Green says:

Yes I think the Ouija boards should definatly be band from toyshops(I was pretty horrified after reading that,I had no idea they are stocking them!)Also I thimk that even if kids don’t actually manage to contact spirits via the board/s they coul end up with deep trauma or pretty bad phichological problems after useing them!

  3. annpeasley says:

i also believe that ouija boards should be kept out of childrens reach!!!! ha ha

  4. Katrice says:

I have always thought they should be banned i know i would not want my children nor anyone elses to tamper with these.. they are extremely dangerous for the young mind.. and anyone for that matter.. why would you sell that ? seriously its like handing a beer or a smoke to an 8 year old and saying ” go on try it. just once could’nt kill ya.” but truth be told one time is all it takes to get you hooked.. its an adrenaline rush.. and the evil that comes from that board is horendous… and maybe some don’t believe in a spiritual world and thats fine.. but you should sign this petition anyways for the sake of our children and they’re future children if some one doesn’t try to make a change in the world .. who will?. Tampering with any peice of some sort of evil is wrong.. whether you think its crap or not. why would you even let me try?.. i agree with what others have said that greed for money is so great some would put childrens futures at stake just so they can sit in a mountain of riches and that makes me sick to my stomach.. how money has consumed this world.. along with greed. i petition for these Ouija boards at any stores to be banned including gas stations. It should be obvious by now to occultists that “playing” with the Oujia Board is a potential danger and should not be used lightly if at all. But for mainstream business outlets to be selling them for reasons of greed is outright blasphemous. Only on the Day of Judgement and Justice will they atone for their crimes. As a Pagan of the Light myself, I understand much of the occult and realize the Goodness that must be achieved through its practice…principles that defy the onslaught of darkness. Beings of Light (angels, guardians, loved ones, etc) will not stoop to the level of communicating through a Oujia Board. Only those with base-level emotions and worse will utilize such a medium.

  6. Roland says:

my sister’s friend was playing with a oujia board and the next day she was dead

  7. Dangerous says:

It is not just ouija boards, it’s all forms occult practices, seances, tarot cards, horoscopes they are all dangerous. Ouija boards are most dangerous, trying to communicate with spirits (no matter what spirits you think you are trying to communicate with) it is dangerous and it is warned against in the bible. You never know, nor can you be sure who or what you are communicating with. I would not even stay around if someone took one out and started using one.

  8. Tonja says:

HI Roland. Terribly sorry to hear about your sister’s friend! Can you give us more details, please?

  9. Tonja says:

Nothing like a friend and yourself playing with an ouija board and then a week later having an unseen entity call out your name, behind you, while doing the dishes.

Oh yea, I want to play with that thing again.

    NOT !!

  10. Roland, sorry to hear about that too.

  11. I agree Dangerous, i wouldn’t hang around either if someone got the ouija board out.

As for Tarot cards, i once had mine read when i was at my sister’s. One of her friend’s was learning how to do it. I never realised back then that the Tarot was occultish. It was the most accurate thing and it was very freaky. It not only told of the exact troubles my sister was having, but it also told of mine too and what our characters were like to a T. There is something supernatural about this and shouldn’t be messed around with.

  12. Hi Tonja, can you tell us more about that please?

  13. moya says:

Please do not play with this board. It is dangerous.

Please take off the market. DO NOT SALE, DO NOT SALE

  14. Tonja says:

Hi Eyepriestess, yes, once again I will share.

It was very early 1984, because I had given birth to my first child, my daughter, in late Oct. of 83. My friend and I were married to guys who both worked with Hulcher, a crew who traveled all over the U.S. cleaning up train wrecks.

Needless to say, we would spent a few days to several days alone, so one of us came up with the “wonderful” idea to entertain ourselves. You have to keep in mind that we did not have the internet or cell phones back in 1984. Add to that, I had my newborn daughter, so what was I going to do for entertainment? Well, I found it, so I thought.

A night or two Lisa had come over and we would have a few drinks and watch TV. One of those nights I suggested we play the ouija board. So we did. But nothing ever happened. No witchboard crap with the planchette moving about on its own, nothing. Finally, after about round 3, we thought it was stupid.

I would say around night 3 or 4, I was home all by myself with my baby,. it was early evening, it was already dark. I was in the kitchen washing what few dishes/pots and pans had been used when I heard the “entity.”

It was not a very masculine voice, but definitely not feminine. It said my name very quickly, but not loud…Tonja. I know it was only a few feet away, right behind me and to my right. Instinctively, hearing my name called, I swung my head to the right and said what?

It took about 3 seconds for me to realize that I was home alone, with only my baby daughter, and that the voice that had been behind me and called my name was not coming from a window-nor a prankster. There were no windows behind me. The next window would have been available if I had walked to the bedrooms. This voice was much, much closer than that.

The entity not only called my named, but said it quickly. Also, it was not loud or screaming. It was at normal decible, just as if anyone in a quiet house would say your name.. Just a quick Tonja and that was it. But it was there. I heard it while washing dishes. I heard it that it made me whip my head around to my right. I heard it. It was not my imagination.

The next thing I did was this. I did not ask who it was, what it was, where it was, why it was. All I did was run into into the master bedroom where my daughter was, lying in her crib. She was asleep and looked peaceful. Regardless, i grabbed her up and both of us slept on the living room sofa that evening, with the overhead ceiling light and TV on.

The next day, during the nice bright sunny daylight, I took the ouija board and burned it in our trash pile behind our house.

To this day, I have never owned another ouija, or, ever had any other experience with one.

  15. Thanks for that Tonja :) Wow i had something similar happen, only it was in a shop. It was mid evening (about 8pm). I was in Cambridge which is about 50 mins away from where i live. I was in a big shop called, T K Max buying a present for my dad. I knew he needed a new umbrella, so i was stood by the umbrella stand in the shop. It was quite empty the shop and as i was stood there looking which one to get my dad, i heard my name being called from right behind me. Like you, i swung my head round and no one was there. The nearest person was on the checkout till about 15 feet away.

I’d describe the voice of that of a woman, it was a sweet voice too and had like ringing tingle to it. It was right behind me too, like they could have even touched me, it was that close. Because the voice sounded pleasant and re-assuring, i said, ‘i heard you.’ Don’t know why my instinct led me to say something back to it, but i just did and never felt afraid either. I think i would have been afraid if it had happened in my house and i was alone.

I told my friend about it, as i couldn’t work out why i should have been allowed to hear it and what the reason was. She came up with a great explanation, she said, maybe it was stalling you for a few seconds. Like it could have been a guardian angel. So, say if i’d set off home again those few seconds earlier, i could have been in an accident or something.

That is the second time i heard something supernatural, the other time was when i heard some voices coming from a guy who claimed to be a Wiccan, but really he was into black witchcraft we later discovered. This happened quite some time after my famous story, which is on here and about my one and only ouija board experience, which led me to believe in God. I mention my belief in God, as this belief is what i think led me to be able to hear these voices.

What happened was, this guy was brought round to my house by my then best mate, Paul. This guy (who i won’t name on here just in case) was Paul’s daughter’s ex boyfriend, who she had just finished with. Paul took him out for a drink to comfort him. After they finished at the pub, they came back to my house about 11pm.

Paul’s daughter used to hate me, coz she thought i was having an affair with Paul (her dad), which wasn’t the case. Anyway, she must have mentioned me to her boyfriend, coz he looked like he was shooting daggers at me with the way he looked at me throughout the time they were there. I said to Paul, i’m going to bed. I didn’t like this guy and rather than be rude and tell them to go, i thought i’d just go to bed as i knew Paul wouldn’t let anything bad happen. While i was walking through the hallway to the stairs, i had to pass this guy who was coming back from the toilet. So, as i passed him, i heard a lot of very nasty voices all whispering. I listened for a bit and then said to this guy, did you hear that? and he goes ‘yes.’ I got the impression that he didn’t really mean to let on he heard them by the way he looked.

Those voices lasted about 5 seconds and sounded like many and they were coming from him, like they were inside him, but he wasn’t making those noises with his mouth and they were many different ones, like all talking over one another and in evil sounding whispers. I know it sounds a bit far fetched, but i was allowed to hear them i believe. So, this is when i knew this guy was into something.

There’s more to this story, but i don’t have time to finish just now, i’ll come back here tomorrow and tell you the rest.

  16. Hi Eyepriestess.

Thank you for asking to share my story, and yet I have another paranormal story to share…It was when I was Christmas Shopping in 1992-1993 at Wal-Mart in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. An entity told me I was being followed. This person stalking me in Wal-Mart was NOT a good thing.

It’s late right now. I will have to tell this later. As proof, my husband and my mother will back me up.

  17. Jennifer says:

Plain and simple, this is a tool of the devil. Demons use it and ppl who are suckered in will regret it sooner or later. There are no such things at ghosts! When you die, your soul goes to Heaven or to Hell, depending on if you have ever asked Jesus into your heart. So, you can’t contact loved ones who are dead. The Bible is very clear on this. This is not a game! I wish the Ouija was banned, never to be sold again!

  18. Nathan says:

I am a religious man. Dabbling with such a board is horrible. My church even says to not tempt the evil spirits or invite them. Trust in God. Love God.

  19. Angela says:

I agree one hundred percent they should be banned! When I was in elementary my Gma bought me one. I never knew it to be anything but a toy till I was told different. Also going to Card Readers there should be a warning under or over the sign stating that you could experience or have demons attach their self to you. I have experienced demonic activity because I didnt know any better. But the demon that speaks to me states that when I went into the place to get my cards read he followed me. That was 15 years ago. I have had demonic activity the last 5 years but never knew what it was till the last year. The demon says the card reader thinks that they are psychic but in fact it is the demon that gives them the answers.

  20. Hi Angela,

please tell us more about this demonic activity.

  21. Hi Eyepriestess. I just read your entire story after mine. This entity that called my name did not really have a pleasant voice. It wasn’t “demonic” or nasty or horrid in any sense of the word, it just said my name and I responded to it. Don’t know why. I KNEW at the time I was home alone with my infant daughter.

Perhaps hindsight being 20/20, the voice had something about it that makes you respond to it…I don’t know.
I can’t put a finger on it. All I can say is that when it called my name gently I simply responded likewise, until I realized I was supposed to be alone, with my baby at that time.

  22. Seth says:

Less than a week to go to Halloween, time to give the Ouija a spring clean in preparation for the evenings entertainment. :)

  23. Hi Seth, please read the warnings on here about ouija boards.

    Happy forthcoming Halloween everyone!

  24. I almost mist this Tonja. I never did finish telling my tale of that guy in my house (my best friend’s daughter’s ex).

I don’t have time to type just now as i’m babysitting, but i’ll remember to tell the rest this week. So, what happened next in this story? :)

  25. Hi Eyepriestess,

My other story I will have to state on Hub pages. If I post it here, Hub (Google) pages will find it and tell me I have duplicated my own work. Hub does not allow that, even if it is my own story/experience/work/ etc… It has to do with Google Search engines. I prefer to post on Hub, as I can earn a few cents there. If some of you folks begrudge me for earning about .25 cents by posting my stories on Hub, sorry.

Anyhow, I will post my next story about my very unpleasant encounter with a stalker at Wal Mart…And how a voice warned me I was being stalked.

  26. If you don’t want to post my previous statement, or this statement, I understand eyepriestess. If you like, Just look me up on Hubpages.

Thanks for allowing me to share what I already have. Hopefully what we have shared will let some folks, like we haven’t tried already, know how dangerous ouija boards and the occult can be !!

  27. Kathy says:

Stop making Ouija boards, Stop selling Ouija boards. STOP! STOP! STOP!

  28. Hi Tonja, i don’t mind at all. Can you send me your hubpage link to me in email? a_bellini@btinternet.com

  29. Demonologist 13 says:

We tried a similiar letter writing campaign here in the states, but we got no response from the toy stores we contacted. Selling these things should be banned-especially among children’s toys.

  30. Did you, was the campaign at Toys R us? I checked a Toys R us store in Cambridge and they didn’t have any ouija boards for sale, which was good to hear.

  31. matt says:

i feel soo strongly that these should be banned- my best friend told me the story of how her mum and about ten of her friends did a ouija board years ago and now eight are dead- one struck by lightening! and she is still followed by it today although it has been worringly dorment for a few years! i have soo many ghost strories and would love to share them!!!

  32. We’d all love to hear about the stories Matt ;)

  33. Demonologist 13 says:

Eyepriestess, call me slow, but to answer your question, the store we wrote to was Toys R Us. I know a few years back there was a grass roots campaign in Britain to get these things out of the stores and that may be why you aren’t seeing them.

    Regards,
    Demonologist 13

  34. I never knew that D13, as i’ve seen ouija boards in independent new age shops.

Since the petition has signatures from all over the world, when we have many more signatures, we can concentrate on sending to the US. I intend to transfer the signatures to a petition on the http://www.care2.com/ which is huge.

  35. Demonologist 13 says:

Well done, Eyepriestess and God speed to you with your efforts to fight the good fight!
