MY NIECE’S GHOST – A TRUE GHOST STORY

This true ghost story I am about to tell you concerns mainly two members of my family.
My thoughts that paranormal activity may have been to blame for this started when my father went back to the house, situated in Devon to check for mail. On his return, he had some very alarming news to tell us.
During his visit to that house, the old lady who was now living there after her son and daughter-in-law refused to live there any more after buying it from my family, told him what had been going on.
The lady started off by asking my father if he had ever had anything strange happen in the house before they sold it to her son and his wife. He answered, ‘not that I am aware of’ (if I can point out here, my father worked away all of the time, with very brief times of leave). The lady went on to describe that when her son and his wife had bought the house off my father, her son very quickly developed mental problems which affected his ability to work and function in normal day to day life. He also turned from a happy go lucky person into moody and sometimes nasty and aggressive, which was not his normal demeanour in any way.
The old lady told him that her son had never before had any mental problems or any interest whatsoever in the paranormal and was therefore very shocked when he told her he was sure there was something evil in the house, which made its presence known only to him. He eventually asked for her help – knowing that she had practised dowsing as a hobby at certain times during her life.
During her dowsing investigation, high energy areas were detected at the top of the stairs and in the bedroom with a chimney breast…especially in the chimney area.
The lady told my father, she became even more concerned when the house her son and his wife had scrimped and saved to put a deposit on was no longer somewhere they wished to reside. Soon after telling her this, they moved out and into pokey rented accommodation above a shop. The son’s mental state returned to a somewhat normal level, but the effects had an effect on their relationship, which she feared would be irretrievable.
In order to help her son and his wife, the lady offered to buy the house from them. She moved in some time later and continued her investigation. After repeatedly receiving signals of high energy levels around the chimney breast area, she decided to have the chimney checked out. It was discovered that a gooey substance was clinging to the walls of the chimney. She had this cleaned off and hoped that this was somehow the cause of the high readings, however the energy levels still remained high.
The conversation ended there, with my father telling her he would ask his family if they had experienced anything and that he would be back to let her know.
Before my father relayed this story to my family, he explained that he had visited the old lady and was told some paranormal activity had taken place, but before he said anything further, he would like to know if they had experienced anything strange in the house.
My sister and mother told him about my sister’s three-year-old daughter who would sometimes refuse to go into her bedroom, which was the room where the chimney breast was located. And on one occasion she would not go up the stairs. When my sister questioned her daughter about this, she said that she couldn’t go up as the boy was stood there. Her mum (my sister) said there is no one there, but she insisted there was.
When my sister and mother questioned her about this and asked who the boy was, she answered quite calmly under the circumstances, ‘the little boy is called Lucifer.’
I know the name Lucifer sounds far-fetched and could discredit this story, but my niece has no knowledge of anything paranormal and certainly does not know that name. It was quite shocking to hear and led me to further investigate other people’s paranormal experiences.
Whether you believe this story or not, I can only tell you that my mother and sister are so dysfunctional now, that they fight all the time and still do to this day, when before they lived in that house there was none of this.
Although I never lived in that house as I had recently married when they moved in, I do think whatever was in there, and probably still is there, has affected my family to a very large degree. I will point out that I have never had a paranormal experience, but I do believe my family completely.
My husband was very shocked to hear about the old lady who lives in that house, telling this true ghost story and then for my sister to say what she said before she knew which rooms the activity had taken place in, he is now wondering himself and he is one very sceptical person.
We only discovered all this a few months ago, therefore I cannot update now as my father has not yet re-visited the old lady. However, we are interested to discover more about this, but it could take some time. I will keep you informed.

Arguing religion always gets up people’s noses. I think so long as we grasp the real concept, that God’s love is there for us, then the rest is pointless, that’s jmo. Thanks Liderien, i too would like to stop here.
Karen M,
I do not belong to any church, or religion.
I did attend a church organization a few years ago, Apostolic Pentecostals. Although they tended to lean toward legalism. I broke away because of differences in my own belief versus theirs. I still hold many people of that faith in high regard. It is the organization that I dis agree with. People from all walks of life and faith I tend to hold in hig regard because of their love from the word of God and their undying, unyielding faith in the Almighty. The most notable attribute to the Apostolic Pentecostals is their dedication to God in prayer and their following of the plan of salvation. I experienced true moves of God that were life changing. I know God is real and they taught me how to touch Him. That is why I recommend them for prayer in your home, or anyones home. They live a seperated life, consecrated behind commonality and have great knowledge of the word of God and how to have a relationship with Him.
I do attend a non-denominational church, with the spirit of God that shows up there, but it seriously lacks any real revelation from the word. It is just milk they serve. Not the sincerely meat of God.
Karen,
I think that you believe in God without any organisation is great. Jesus said, ‘you do not have to worship behind stones and morter for your words to reach the father.’ When you grasp that. then you have God in your heart.
Thanks Karen!
I’m sure Karen (and myself) is very thankfull Liderien for most of our day taken up with this debate. I for one would have appreciated at least one of my questions answered, especially the one about religious objects being of no importance when evil forces are around.
You said that the Bible held no importance as a book in deterring evil, but you didn’t answer my question, ‘does this also apply to a church as this is also a material object?’
Sweetheart, I did. The post order got screwed up because of the waiting for admin approval. After posting and the posts being let through, my post fell below someone elses. Eye, you know be better than that!
My answer was:
Absolutely! The bible says that we are the temple.
I Corinthians 3
16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
New American Standard Version:
16 Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
17 If any man destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him, for the temple of God is holy, and that is what you are.
I Cornithians 6
19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
I am not sure how you posted that last statement, I can read it two ways, however, I want to chose the less offensive way as I know it can be easy to misunderstand when communicating online plus I consider you to be an ally/friend, so I just want to know if you were being facetious when you said:
“I’m sure Karen (and myself) is very thankful Liderien for most of our day taken up with this debate.”
I too wasn’t sure how you meant your post when you said thanks to Karen after i had spent most of the day letting in all the comments and replying. Not fecitious, just naffed off
but it is 4 am my end now, lol
No worries Liderien, we did actually enjoy the debate.
Just so you know, i cannot let in any comments that come in later than another, wordpress only allows me to let them in in order.
I also replied to another one of your posts when you said you have experienced the love of God. It is hard to decifer when they are not in the order that the member can see them. I knew you had the actual order, which is different than what we can see. No worries.
Never get mad my love, always ask first. (which I know you did), cause there is always a reason that we cannot see.
I will shut up now so that I can fade off into the distance and bid you farewell.
Liderien
I’m fading off too… to bed, goodnight Liderien.
I wasn’t mad, just naffed off
I think this post reminds me of the days of Jeremy’s blog…hard going! but enlightening.
naffed off…clearly an english idiom…what does it mean?
(Stupid Americans! LOL!!!)
I forget sometimes about our different sayings, lol it meant i’d Just had a bad, bad day and couldn’t sleep.
eyepreistess- i’ve just read all the comments since my last post and i dont know if you were referring ur coment to me, on blessing my house with olive oil. i dont follow any certain religion but was raised with my practising everything with my parents searching for the “truth”. Personaaly, i believe in God and that his son, our Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins and that to be “saved” you must believe that. but i do also believe that having religious if u will, objects around will help fight evil off because of the faith you have in what the object represents. JMO and i think you already said that.
Karen M and eyepriestess-remember the “goo” we were talking about? could it be an ectoplasm?(or however its spelled)
Rebecca,
yes, i too thought that about the goo, check it out in a reply to you further up. That’s bizarre you should think that too. Maybe it is you know…wow freaky goo. It makes you think of a really evil force to cause that.
I agree with the religious artifacts too. But that’s just our opinion i suppose.
The anointing of oil is for you and i’m going to do this too after i had a sleep paralysis experience the other day. Read about it if you like, it’s in my forum, called, ‘My first sleep paralysis’.
Ep-i dont know if i am strong enough to bless my house…im afraid something will happen
That has crossed my mind too Rebecca, I have imagined something happening as I bless it. Like it will cause it to go crazy.
Rebecca, probably the best way would be to get a priest to do it. I’m going to look into this at my church, but the problem is, i’ve never attended and don’t want to get dragged into doing so. I just don’t like how the community then gets too involved with your life. I’ve had that happen before.
I suppose i could ask a priest at another church.
What do you think about that for you too?
yes i feel like i would be overcome by something and the thought just freaks me out.
i feel weired asking a priest/church because like you, i dont attend it and dont want to be obligated to them some how. i hear if you live in the house you should at least be present when its being blessed or cleansed.
ive also heard about burning sage and putting salt at the doors and under the beds. whats your opinion on that?
I’ve heard that too about salt and sage, we could have a search on the internet to see what it all means. I wonder how things such as that can deter evil, I find it all so fascinating how that could be.
I mentioned somewhere about washing the windows with salt water, but don’t ever burn sandal wood in your house in form of inscence cause it associated with the dead!
Ok Karen, good advice, thanks.
Rebecca I wouldn’t feel strange if I were you by asking a priest to come and bless the house even though you said that you don’t go to church, they will do it regardless of whether you go or not!
Oh well then, i’ll go and approach one if you don’t have to attend church. Thanks Karen.
karen M- but isnt what we are trying to get rid of dead? so would the sage help? i dont know.
i know nothing about witchcraft either. maybe we should erase that post just in case it is.
i will too. but i feel like a hypocrite sort of cause i dont really follow any religion. and if i dont truly believe what they are saying would the blessing even work?
ok Rebecca, i’ll erase it just in case. Like Karen said, it was that chanting bit that got me.
don’t you believe in God Rebecca?
Rebecca, I’ve heard that sage is known to ward off negative energy, but I thought it was a good post me either I’m not too familiar with witchcraft
It was a good post, but we need to be sure on stuff like that really. Wish one of us knew for sure about it. I have saved what you posted Rebecca, just in case it isn’t witchcraft.
Rebecca has just sent some fascinating reads about other dimensions, that will go up next week.
maybe it’s not really witchcraft but a sort of Wiccan ritual and the wiccan religion is not at all into devil worshipping of satan they are in tune to nature
It could be. I don’t follow a religion as such, but I do believe in God and I’d rather know for certain about this before I try it out.
Me too, I feel a little uneasy trying these things myself!
Rebecca, where abouts are you from?
Karen M- i live in northern california, US.
Isnt wiccan witch craft?
i thought i heard it was somewhere.
Rebecca , that must be nice to live in california! No Wiccian isn’t a form of witchcraft but more a form of religion, they don’t believe in God or the devil!
Well, i used to know a wiccan, he wasn’t a friend, just my best friends, daughter’s ex-boyfriend. He seemed nice enough at first, but i had some pretty weird things happen in my house when he was there.
Whatever the religion, there is always good and bad in them all. Wiccans will say till they’re blue in the face that their faith is good, but they do do spells i know that.
Part of their belief is to harm no one, but I never knew a Wiccan, so I don’t know!
I agree Karen, Wicans and Pagans belief is to harm not a living thing, but you get people who misinterpret this, some think that Pagans are occultist or satanists, which is untrue. The Wiccan i knew called himself a Wiccan, but he wasn’t at all, he was into black magik.
I find this story interesting.. I wonder if the father has revisited the old lady yet and if so.. what was discovered?..
Thanks for sharing this story with us and I hope to hear what you have found out!
