Get It Darker! – The Ouija Board And Satan
10/06/2009 by: eyepriestess
Along time ago when I was about fifteen years old, my mates (about four or five of them) and I decided to play on my best mate’s mum’s ouija board. We took it round to my other friend’s house as her parents were out. We turned the lights out and lit some candles and then we sat around the table.
We asked the usual questions and after about 10 minutes of messing about the planchette started to move. We all thought someone was pushing it at first, but we still carried on and let it spell out who it was. It spelled out Marilyn Monroe. Of course we did now think someone was moving it and I got pretty mad as I really wanted it to work.
I decided to ask if it would show itself to us. In response, it spelled out, ‘get it darker’. So we blew out most of the candles and just had a couple going. The thing spelt out again, ‘get it darker’. I was getting a bit jittery now as I had a bad feeling about this. We blew out another candle, but it yet again spelled, ‘get it darker’, then it spelled it out again and again. This thing was moving so fast, we all got frightened to death and stopped playing with it.
About a week later we got hold of the ouija board again and this time we had no-ones house to go to, so we took it down to a field near to the train track as this was the only place we could think of where we wouldn’t be seen.
Now what i’m about to tell you is absolutely true, but it sounds so childish, but i’ll tell it how it happened. We started playing with it and immediately it worked and spelled out look under the board. We all looked at one another and looked under the board, written in like a pinkish ink was, ‘satan was ere’.
I thought that someone had written it and so did all of the others, so we weren’t at all bothered by this. Anyway we carried on playing and then it spelled out again, ‘look under the board’. We turned the board around and that writing wasn’t there anymore. We all ran out of there so fast leaving the board behind.
I have never played the board again and after reading all the stories over the years of people who have also had it work for them, I think we were being messed around with by something. I’ve heard that the boards lie all the time and say they’re someone that they aren’t. I’ve also heard that if you play with them and don’t say a prayer before then you usually have bad spirits that you’re dealing with. What do you think, has anyone else had something happen that was like my one?

I believe you, anything can happen with those ouija boards. I’ve never had an experience, although my brother did play with one and it just kept saying “close the window”. I really did want to try one to see if it works, but after all these stories, I’m too scared, did you experience anything else after that or any of your friends?
I do too, anything is possible with those boards. It was probably a demon or a malevelent spirit, but that writing would have at first made me think just as you all did, then when it had gone, well you cannot get much better proof than that.
Did the mother who’s board it was ever ask you all where her board was?
I believe that… you wouldn’t make such a thing up as it’s too crazy.
I would like to know if anything else has ever happened?
That’s a good question Eyepriestess. Yeah you said you left the board behind did you ever go back and get it?
No we didn’t experience anything after, thanks for asking though
I can’t realy answer the question about the mum wondering where the board had gone as i didn’t really have much to do with the mother, or the friend of her afterwards as we had a fallout.
This was something that was rarely mentioned afterwards.
Isn’t it great that we have sites like these and we can all talk about our experiences without being ciriticizied?
Hello Karen,
I was a bit worried about telling my story and it was a long time ago. I haven’t been criticized yet but who knows.
Hi Debbie, I’m glad that one you shared your experience with us, I don’t think that anyone on this site would criticize you, as we’re all here to talk about our experiences, that’s the great thing about this site!
I have quite a few stories, not exactly like that but pretty creepy. I’m going to preface this by stating —Never— and I really mean never, use a Ouiji board in the house you are living in unless you are willing to deal with the later activity that comes with it. In my experience, this is an open invitation for spirits to enter your home and unless you know how to get them to leave afterwards… good luck. Okay, so I used to do Ouiji in this really old childhood house that was already quite haunted. One day my brother and I were talking about the creepiness of the house and decided to play, if you can really call it playing, the Ouiji board. We asked some basic questions and immediately the little plastic thing was all over the place giving us not only his name but weird, old-timey jokes. I was about 14 probably and my brother was about 16. These were all in the oddest, sophisticated old English language. I’m not even sure how to describe it but we were just looking at each other like “what the heck?!” Most of the jokes we really didn’t understand but some were sort of funny. This took place about 15 years ago so I don’t remember the jokes. Anyway, after some time we decided to ask it to do something to prove it was there. I’m not sure why but I said something to the effect of “Okay, make the dog come into the room.” Our dog, Angel was sitting in the other room for a while and hadn’t made a peep. The board stopped and everything was quiet. Angel stood up, walked into the room and laid down by our feet. Our faces dropped and our eyes bugged. Okay, that was weird… but maybe we said her name and she heard it… maybe we were looking at her… So we figured if it really was a spirit moving our dog, it should be able to do it again. This time we half-jokingly said “Okay, make her go back”. Then, I kid you not, Angel stood back up, walked back into the other room and laid back down. By this time were not only convinced but flat out freaked. I think we stopped playing and put it away. My other brother later told us that he had been playing with the same board and he burnt it. He wouldn’t tell me what happened but just that it wasn’t allowed in the house anymore. We had an awful lot of activity in that house for the next couple months too. Not fun.
Hi Becki,
that was very creepy, and I agree with you, you just do rarely get away with messing with a ouija board.
I’d love to post your story/stories in their own post on here. If you want to email them to me at a_bellini@btinternet.com…if you would like to do this, copy and paste into the email rather than attach.
Get away from Ouija boards real quick. I believe that is why my husband Chris lost his hand!
Oh gosh how did he lose his hand, and what makes you suspect the ouija board?
Isis, i too was wondering that! Hope you don’t mind us asking Lorinda.
hi i am Julia i am 13 and i orderd a witch board from ebay and i am going to do this with my best friend. we both believe in spirits and have seen some before. the witchboard is just to interesting i have to try it, but i was was wondering what do you do if you call a bad spirit? and i heard all those bad stories but for some reason it is pulling me to the board like someone needs help. my board didnt come in yet but i cant wait. i am not using this board for fun. i am going to do a prayer and ask a gardian angel to stay with us and keep the bad spirits away. i have the biggest feeling that a traped spirit is drawing me to the board and needs help should i help him or not??
where can i use the board the best i wanted to use it at home or at that abandond home in the neighborhood but my friend wants to go to the graveyard what place is the best??
Julia – Undoubtedly spirits do exist and you will likely find some. In regards to “bad” spirits, let’s think about that for a minute. I have my beliefs but you should consider some things for yourself… Do you believe in heaven or hell or purgatory? When you ask a spirit to join you, where do you think that spirit is coming from? Are they a loved one who has passed or just a spirit lingering around who hasn’t “seen the light” and moved on? What is the spirits intentions on talking to you? Why would they want to do that? Do all spirits just hang out for living beings to come call on them? Personally I imagine “good” spirits to be ones that have moved on and are working towards helping people or just living their non-physical lives and have better things to do than just hang out at a Ouija board. That’s not to say all the spirits you’ll get are “bad” per se. What does that mean anyway? Remember, they were all physical people once. What made them get stuck where they are and why do they want to talk to you? You mention that something seems to be calling you… like they need your help and I understand that. I grew up in a very haunted house and felt similarly at times (http://thestantonhouse.blogspot.com/). I lived there 14 years and was never able to help but was perpetually bothered by the spirits I conjured using the Ouiji board. I’m glad you have an awareness of guardian angels and will ask for their help. I actually swear by this although I’m not sure they will be the most pleased with this, I’m sure they will support you.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying not to use the board or contact spirits. I am saying that I don’t think you are going to find a good spirit that needs your help. Teenage female are the most susceptible to the vibrational pull of the spirit world and likely you are feeling the connections to some spirits who would like to connect with you for whatever reason. I think Ouija is very interesting but will cause you grief if you do it in your own home. Make sure you are very clear about telling the spirit that they do NOT have permission to stay in your home or contact you outside of the use of the board. Be prepared to exercise your house in the weeks afterwards. You should Smudge your house before and the few days after at least. Google it or here’s the basics: (http://www.ehow.com/how_2101224_smudge-a-house.html).
That said, my thoughts are not to do it in your own home at all. An abandoned house is good or even at someone’s house that has no belief in ghosts at all and particularly where no teenagers live. Hope this helped! I want to hear how it goes!
