Years ago I used to get harassing phone calls, sometimes they would speak "sexual" content, or just heavy breathing..., it was my wife answering the phone most of the time. We had our phone number changed, and unlisted. It put a stop to unwanted phone calls. Now I have caller ID, but some people figure a way to block where the call is coming from, and what phone number is being used. What's next?

Call the phone company right after the call and report it, also you can block call ID from accepting calls from unknown callers, that's what I do also on my iphone if the number isn't displayed the call a message will tell the caller that the number they are caling does not accept calls from people who don't display their number!

People like that make you sick don't they Greg? I only watched a programme tonight called, 'Secret millionaire' where people spend tim in depraved areas of England, and then decide who to write out cheques for. Tonight's was great! Why can't people use their time doing right???

RE: When Someone Threatens You
For 20 years I have always carried a knife on me due to past people I have dealt with, I have many in my house placed in places that are not easy for the kids to reach but I can reach them. When we move and get the furniture placed where we want it I go around placing my knives. I also have taught my kids about the knives and how they are not allowed to play with them. (I also have 2 swords but they are locked up) I keep our phones in hubby's name and when we could it was always unlisted but now due to his job it has to be listed.

I dont know what is really going on but I do feel for anyone who has to go through that.

RE: When Someone Threatens You
Whoa, Shastar, that is rough, to feel threaten at all times. It is a shame that we must live in fear and can't find peace in our own homes.

We were burglarized about 25 years ago, someone broke into our home around 5:00 AM, while we were asleep. I was partially awake and hearing movement but thought it was my son going to the bathroom.

Then, when this man went out the front door, the wind caught the door and it slammed, that is when we realized what was going on. At the time we only own a VCR, and that is what he took, plus all of my credit cards. I am still not over that episode of assault.

RE: When Someone Threatens You
Hey Shastar, nice to see you on here again!! Smile

Only trouble with knives, are if the assailant manages to grab your arm or wrist and turns it on you. I read recently that Raid wasp and fly spray killer is as good, if not better than mace or pepper spray, so i bought some and keep it by my bed now. I will also be taking it out with me when i take the dog for a walk.

If you spray that in the burglar's eyes, it temporarily blinds them and they need to eventually get to the hospital for antidote treatment. At least you can then get out and call for help whilst they are unable to see and are struggling.

Did you enjoy the chocs i sent you? Pitch said you got them in the end!

Say hello to Evil E for me, this computer is still ok after installing disc into drive D.

RE: When Someone Threatens You
It takes a long time to get over something like that. I am very cautious now, especially if I am home alone and at night. Autrey installed a dead bolt lock after that.

It was from me that you heard about the wasp spay and I must follow my own advice and get myself a can.

RE: When Someone Threatens You
Of course it was Pitch, about the wasp spray, that was one of the best bits of advice all year! Get yourself a can Pitch, i even have the top off ready! I suppose it runs out of date after a while, so bear that in mind.
