I realise that being a 2 year old she can’t really swim, so I jump in and rescue her, but she is really heavy and I struggle to pull her up, so I manage to hold her above my head and outside the water so she isn’t drowning and is breathing air.

But because she is so heavy I am holding her above the water, but my head and body is still under the water, I understand that I am able to lift her above me but it means that I will drown, the thing that amazed me was my calm understanding of the situation, and I calmly accept this fate, then I woke up.

I did this painting for my eldest daughter after she saw it in a gallery brochure 4 years ago, i copied it, but put my take on it.

It's not one of my best as i hadnt been painting with oils very long and i think it is muddy looking in places, plus you can see pencil marks in the hip area of the lady. First time i had painted a person and it was amazing how she came to life once the right colours were painted.



This is my most recently completed painting in acrylic, which is of the palace gardens in Aranjuez, Spain. My sis and her hubby love it there as he is Spanish. I painted it for their wedding present. They just got married in April. The camera lens and flash spoilt this painting and made it look wishy washy.]]>

So I got up and turned it off. I sat back down and we start discussing a possible haunting (I have serious doubts). Then the DVD player starts up again and the disc drawer opens and shuts. So I make a comment to the entity (in sarcasm), after I go a second time and shut it off, to go ahead and turn it on again if he is really there. A few seconds later it comes on again. So, I get up and sit in front of it and turn it off. It comes on again and this time the disc drawer opens and shuts several times really fast like someone it hitting the button without letting it finish its objective. Both me and my husband look at each other and I have to admit the hair on my arms stood up. I told my husband that I refuse to believe that it is a "ghost" and the explanation is a faulty DVD player. I remove the disc from the player and state, "Maybe if we remove the DVD, the machine will not feel the need to play it." So I took the DVD out and then turned off the player and sat there and watched it. It comes back on and the drawer opens and just sits there open like its waiting for a disc to be placed in it. MY husband is freaked out by now. I, however, am still skeptical, and I understand the malfunctions of electronics. We are going to replace the DVD player and go from there. The only way I would believe that anything is running the machine is if it is completely unplugged. That would make me a true believer.
Now, after we experience this malfunction from the DVD player, my husband tells me that our neighbor said that the owner before the one that sold the house to me, had killed himself in the house; upstairs. I have to admit its a little freaky, but I am in doubt. So i go over and ask the neighbor. He said it was roughly 27 years ago. Evidently he was dying of cancer and he couldn't take it anymore.
Well...I am still sitting on the seat of doubt and not sure where this is heading. We have been here for two years and haven't experienced anything like this before. Should I replace the DVD player and the new one do it again, I might be apt to buy into the idea of a "ghost". Until then it is simply a malfunction.
Well...that's my story. I refuse to be afraid in my own house. I cant live like that. I refuse to feed the thoughts that will do nothing but scare myself. Some of you here know me..others will get a sense of who I am after reading this, while those of you who already know me will get a deeper understanding of who I am in a 'nutshell'.

I have always been in a 'tug of war' with myself on this subject. I went to church every since I could remember. I was a good 'Christian' child. I did what I was told, studied my bible scriptures, I even earned my first Bible due to learning the scriptures. I believe in God and Jesus Christ, I also believe there is something more. I am native american, more spacificly Mohawk. My mother studied to be a medicine woman since I was a teenager. (lived with granparents when in my early years)
I learned some of the native prayers and rituals. This is where I learned to have a greater respect for nature, all living creatures and Mother Earth.

I have studied native herbology, and culture. I feel in my soul that this was the 'something missing' in my life.
My inner struggle remains. The good little Christian girl and the Spiritual woman that stands before me in the mirror. Is it possible to have both? I pray to God in the evenings before bed, and when something happens in my life both good and bad. I do not attend church services anymore as I feel that doing so is hypacritical. I feel that God and the Great Spirit are one and the same, and if I feel I need to speak whats in my heart and on my mind I can better do it alone with nature.

So, I guess I am a Spiritual woman who keeps the good little Christian girl close to her heart. As most of us do, I hope that it is enough.
