Black Dog Of Bungay

‘All down the church in midst of fire, the hellish monster flew
And, passing onward to the quire, he many people slew’.

An old verse recalling the hellish true events at St Mary’s Church, Bungay, Suffolk, England, which took place during a violent thunderstorm on Sunday 4th August 1577.

Black Dogs

Black dogs are something from British folklore, much larger than normal dogs,
seeing one is supposed to be very bad luck…usually meaning a death very soon.
